ABOUT: INFORMS
Established in 1995, the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) is the largest society in the world for professionals in the field of operations research (O.R.) and the management sciences. Primarily used for decision-making purposes in the corporate and manufacturing sectors, INFORMS members employ mathematical models, statistics and algorithms to aid in decision-making and improve or optimize systems and operations performance.
INFORMS serves the scientific and professional needs of O.R. executives, managers, supervisors, professors, researchers, chairs, deans, directors, independent contractors, consultants, analysts. These individuals work for corporations, consulting groups, the military, the government, and in health care. Many operations researchers are academics who teach operations research, management science, and the quantitative sciences in engineering and business schools.
